In addition to the suggestions offered in the newsletter, artists who use oil or acrylic might want to consider glazing other colors over pure white to get tints and light values instead of always mixing everything on the palette. As you all know, the more palette mixing you do, the more lifeless and boring the mixture becomes. You might also try scumbling or sgraffito techniques to enliven passages.
